President's Letter

Dear Chicago Chapter of IFMA Members,

As we begin another year, I’m excited by the prospects of what this year will offer to our membership.  I am truly honored to be elected President of this great chapter.  I will never forget the first IFMA meeting I attended… suddenly, my work responsibilities were expanded to include office management.  I was invited to a meeting by a wonderful furniture rep and could not believe there were other people, much less an association, dealing with the everyday problems I now faced.  I never looked back and now find myself as president of the chapter.

I look forward to upholding the high standards in which we work and collaborating with a dedicated Board of Directors and other associations.

I take over for Jerry DiCola who I must thank for all his self-less service and dedication to the chapter these last few years. I will continue Jerry’s goals of Engaging the Current Membership and ask all of you to assist me in Growing the Membership. Your contacts in everyday business life are a great new-member source for IFMA. I know many more Chicago based facility managers, office managers and office administrators would benefit greatly from being connected to all of you. When you see them, pass their information on to our Membership Committee.

As we move into this new fiscal year, I’m excited to announce a very successful co-event with CoreNet and ALA. This was a great synergy for us to expose IFMA to a robust membership of real estate and office professionals. For those of you there, thanks for attending. We recognize that strong programs drive membership engagement and our Professional Development Committee has worked hard to make that the norm for the Chicago Chapter.

In closing, my request to each of you is to engage in this chapter, attend these programs.  It becomes its own reward.
