IFMA has launched a six-month energy challenge for North American chapter and council members. The challenge encourages members to use the online ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager to benchmark their building's energy performance against similar facilities and share that data with IFMA. Chapters are competing for having the most participants; and councils are competing for the most ratable and unique/non-ratable buildings. Winners will be announced at IFMA Facility Fusion, April 11-13, 2012, in Chicago,Ill.
- Think your building can't be benchmarked? That's even more reason to join your peers through sharing data through IFMA's Master Account!
- Why share your data with IFMA? Better benchmarking data. By sharing data with your IFMA peers, we can compare similar facilities with one another by building type, state, region, etc… and you can see the results. We have also developed resources and tools specifically tailored to meet the needs of our members and challenge to help you to reduce the energy use of your building by 15% from the baseline data entered.
- It only takes 5 steps and 5 minutes—get started today!
- What will the winning chapters and councils receive? Bragging rights! Each winning chapter and council will receive one complimentary registration to World Workplace 2012 inSan Antonio. This registration will cover conference registration only. Winning chapter and councils will also receive a web banner to post to their IFMA website.

· Finding comparative building data just got easier. IFMA has released an online survey management system entitled BEX. BEX helps you participate in IFMA surveys and participants have free and unlimited access to specific survey benchmarking data. Once enough data is collected to build a report, you can: Access survey data to compare hundreds of building reports to your facility’s data, filter benchmark data specific to your needs—sort by industry, facility type, geographic region, facility size and more.
