NEW VERSION OF LEED - CHANGES WITH V4

Gain insights into the increased performance standards of LEED Version 4. Meet a panel of experts who have embraced and implemented LEED Version 4 standards into their projects, with a special focus on how to navigate the new Sustainable Materials labels when purchasing products moving forward!

PANELISTS

Keara Fanning, MS, LEED AP BD+C
Sustainability Practice Lead – Senior Manager
Project Development Services, JLL

Ms. Fanning is the Midwest Region Sustainability Practice Lead with JLL’s Project and Development Services group in Chicago, IL. Ms. Fanning has over seven years’ experience providing sustainability consulting for a diverse portfolio of projects including LEED certifications, WELL certifications, energy retrofits, net-zero carbon development, corporate sustainability reporting, and life-cycle assessments. As a LEED and WELL  Accredited Professional, she is focused on reducing building energy use and the impact of construction on the environment through the implementation of green certifications and sustainability focused real estate initiatives. Keara leverages internal and external team members to provide optimized sustainability solutions for clients. Keara is also a member of the Global Energy and Sustainability Services Team.

Eileen Quigley
Sustainability Manager at Natural Resources Defense Council

Eileen is the Sustainability Manager at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). She managed the 4 most recent renovations in the NRDC office portfolio, all of which pursued LEED and Living Building Challenge. She is aware of owners’ and facility managers’ motivations when it comes to health both during construction and in the operational phase. She is knowledgeable on how buildings impact the health of those on site as well as those behind the scenes.  Eileen also ensures minimal environmental impact from NRDC's energy use, water use, waste creation, indoor environmental quality and procurement decisions. In her role she works with the Facility Managers to integrate sustainability initiatives into everyday operations. Under her leadership, NRDC aims to exhibit aggressive, innovative and scalable solutions to minimizing the building industry's environmental impact. Eileen has degrees in structural engineering and sustainability management.

Ryan Dick
Founder and COO at GIGA

Ryan received his masters degree in Architecture with an emphasis in Structural Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was awarded a Luce Scholars Fellowship and relocated to Shanghai, China to teach sustainable design at Tongji University. While teaching, Ryan co-founded GIGA (Global Innovations Green Algorithms), an independent third party, which combines the development of building standards with cloud software to provide free access to transparent, open data to support performance-driven, regenerative buildings. At GIGA, Ryan continues to build business solutions that drive demand for environmental regeneration.

Senior Associate | Building Performance Analyst at DLR Group

Shona’s focus on efficiency and indoor environmental quality is an important component of DLR Group’s Building Performance team, supporting the firm's pursuit of sustainable building design and operation. Her primary goal is to challenge people to think differently about the way they design and operate buildings; advising teams from sustainable goal setting to efficient operations. She uses building simulation to help designers quantify energy savings and understand the interactions of building design with the mechanical systems and with the environment.
