Meet The Panel

Heather R. Becker

Heather joined Laner Muchin in 2006 as an associate and has been a partner of the Firm since 2009. Prior to joining Laner Muchin, Heather was an associate at a large, Chicago-based law firm where her practice focused on labor and employment counseling and litigation and general business litigation. Heather now concentrates her practice on representing public and private sector employers before federal and state courts and administrative agencies in all types of employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment and retaliation litigation, wage and hour and wage payment claims, civil rights and constitutional claims, whistleblower claims, and employment contracts disputes involving trade secrets, non-competes and restrictive covenants. Heather also provides counseling services to her clients on a day-to-day basis to help them develop policies and procedures to minimize risk, train employers on best practices to improve employee relations, and develop practical solutions to resolve complex employment disputes before they mushroom into litigation matters.

Dan Burress

Dan was born and raised in Chicagoland. Having an entrepreneurial spirit at a young age, Dan learned the importance of finance and money, being mentored by his father, a Certified Public Accountant. After high school, Dan earned a degree in Criminal Justice. Shortly after that, he became employed with API Communications and positively excelled in design and implementation of complex security systems. With his entrepreneurial ambition, Dan, with his then business partner's assistance and founded Imperial Surveillance, Inc. in 2007. Dan worked tirelessly in a two-person organization, selling and installing security surveillance equipment for local small businesses and prominent corporations. Imperial Surveillance has since become one of the fastest growing surveillance company in the Midwest with branches in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana with his dedication and hard work.  In 2020, Dan became the sole owner of Imperial Surveillance, Inc. Now, as the sole owner of Imperial Surveillance, Inc., Dan has created and maintained a work culture that encompasses a family-oriented and welcoming work culture. Dan continuously leads a team of dedicated stakeholders to accomplish this goal. With the mission of Imperial Surveillance, Inc. steadfast on providing clients with the most satisfactory customer service and security services protecting their life and property and a strong commitment to its employees. Though it’s unique processes that they are currently in the process of trademarking and patenting Imperial Surveillance, Inc is well on its way to becoming the leading security firm in the county.

Yvette Couty

Yvette re-joined IFMA in 2013, volunteering in the Community Services Committee. Yvette works for Cushman & Wakefield on the Kraft Heinz account.  Her current position is Regional Facility Manager and she is responsible for the Kraft Heinz HQ at the AON Center along with supporting Kraft Heinz’s U.S. Sales Offices in project management. She holds a dual master’s Degree from DeVry University, MBA, MPM. Yvette has worked for over 20 years in Commercial Real Estate and she also dabbles in Residential Real Estate for Keller Williams ONEChicago.  Her second passion in life is Health/Fitness, she holds 2 Personal Trainer Certifications, NASM & ISSA. She has taught classes for over 30 years and enjoys helping people in their fitness goals. Last but not least she is a single mom and has an amazing 30-year-old son named Hector who is her reason for living!

 

Linda Murdix

Linda is currently the Director of Facilities at RJ O’Brien.  Linda has also held roles as Senior Global Facilities Manager at Axiom Law, Facilities and Administrative Services Manager at Greeley and Hansen LLC and Facilities Administrator at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, LLP.  Linda has a strong focus on customer service and a proven ability to successfully coordinate complex office renovations, while effectively maximizing cost savings.  During the Chicago renovation, Greeley and Hansen LLC earned LEED certification.  Linda is also certified in ergonomics, and she passionately supports “green” business operating practices. Linda has been an active member of IFMA since 2008.  Linda has been a board member since 2012.  Linda is passionate with assisting others who are looking for work and remains committed to IFMA.  Linda earned her CFM (Certified Facility Manager) designation in 2012.


Paul Timm


Paul is the Vice President of Facility Engineering Associates since 2017.  Paul Timm is a board-certified Physical Security Professional (PSP). In addition to conducting numerous vulnerability assessments and frequent keynote speaker. Paul conducts vulnerability assessments using the ALPHA™ vulnerability assessment methodology

He is an active member of ASIS International’. Paul is certified in Vulnerability Assessment Methodology (VAM) through Sandia National Laboratories and the ALPHA™ vulnerability assessment methodology.

 

Meet The Moderator

Randy Braverman

Randy Braverman is a Senior Consultant for Facility Engineering Associates (FEA) since 2017.  Randy has 35 years of experience in managing security operations as a Security Consultant, Head of Security, Director of Security and Campus Safety, and Law Enforcement Officer. He has overseen full scale emergency crisis exercises and coordinated the efforts of local, county, state authorities, military forces, hospitals, and school personnel within these exercise. An Emergency Preparedness Specialist, Randy conducts vulnerability assessments using the ALPHA™ vulnerability assessment methodology and provides technical assistance for emergency and crisis plans for school districts, municipalities, libraries, park districts and corporations. Randy has been a Board Member with the Chicago Chapter of IFMA since 2019 on the Professional Development Committee as a Vice Chair.
