Businesses and organizations all over American are faced with a host of new 21st century challenges including the impact of the economic decline, which has led to operating budget cuts and capital constraints. Enterprise leaders everywhere struggle to maintain market share, increase fiscal strength and reduce costs in order to flourish.  One of the proven methods of reducing costs through improved efficiencies is through systems/ process operations and performance improvements.  Millions of dollars have been added to company bottom lines through implementation of the LEAN method.  Confronted with the new quality metrics of the accountable age, many are laboring to improve performance and eliminate waste and redundancies in their processes and work flows.

This IFMA presentation will demonstrate how the principles of LEAN are applied to identify existing problems and opportunities, derive creative solutions, delineate facility impacts and develop implementation plans with continuous outcomes evaluation, in collaboration with customers and users. The LEAN process has assisted in reducing the costs of operations (including energy costs), improving throughput, reducing process times and serving to increase daily net revenue for countless organizations.

This IFMA program will address why LEAN is an attractive skill-set for facilities managers and professionals and what the value of LEAN practices are to our customers and employers in addition to presenting the typical LEAN process and deliverables involved.  Case Studies for various LEAN projects will be presented including workplace processes, plant operations best practices, LEAN construction delivery models, LEAN facility design, project management tricks and other helpful tips of the trade.
