Golf Outing 2016

On May 26, 2016 the Chicago Chapter of IFMA held our 4th Annual Golf Outing at Harborside International golf course in Chicago. It was a great day for golf, it was a mild day we had a light spring rain early on which stopped as quickly as it started. Each year the attendance has grown, this year we had 128 golfers. We hope to have 144 next year.  This year we raised $5,730 for Archi-Treasures, our charity for 2016.

Archi-Treasures is an arts-based community development organization reducing social isolation by creating grassroots partnerships to build public spaces, empowering individuals to shape their future and the future of their community.  According to Joyce Fernandes, Executive Director of Archi-Treasures, the Golf Outing funds will be used to provide art programs for residents of subsidized housing complexes, especially youth. For example, at Germano Millgate Apartments in South Chicago, Archi-Treasures will employ young people this fall to develop a website that will showcase portrait drawings and community stories, providing an alternative viewpoint to negative media representations of the community.
